  1. I appreciate you posting this. This is really an awesome diy setup. I was
thinking about setting one up for a pool heater, so this would be perfect.?

  2. You’ll need vent holes on that box… with heavy screening so that critters
& bugs don’t get in the electronics, or chew the wiring inside.?

  3. What a good video mate- as for the trolls do they realise that they just
make your channel stand out even more (though most appear to be demics) ?

  4. Nice that the kid’s are involved with this ! ,They will remember your
teachings, regardless of the negative comments. These people have the nerve
to put fear into children!shame on You!?

  5. Am assuming you going to clean this up later as you seem to have performed
testing in this one. The two cables you used to connect up the batteries
where too long. It would have been a high efficiency if they were about 1/4
of the length as longer the wire length; the higher resistances thus the
high the voltage drop and the least efficiency it is. I’ll keep watching
to see what it ends up being but it is a start.?

  6. Good information. This is the first video I’ve seen with clear information
about how to set this up. I like the clear shot of the charge controller,
it’s not difficult once you understand it.?

  7. The rules of automotive power cables is Neg. Cable off first. Neg. Cable on
last. And don’t wear rings. Lol?

  8. troy will that charge controler work with a 10 amp out from a generator?
looking to just even out the voltage when doing a charge also to have
something to give me an idea on whn when my batteries are charged.I am
planning to get aditional batteries and also need to know how many
batteries I can safely charge at 10 amps out. Checking the Generator over I
knoticed this one has solid and not stranded wires.?

  9. Great tutorial of the bare bones of Solar power , which some viewers will
appreciate a lot especially those just starting out . Thanks for sharing?

  10. This helps me, I am putting up a small solar setup soon to run my well
pump, thank you and take care.?

  11. 160lb batteries… wow. Those are like the ones they used on submarines
before they were nuclear powered. And I thought my 4 60lb batteries were
heavy. I prefer several smaller ones than just a few huge ones.?

  12. I’m not an electrician but I’ve heard that when you are connecting
batteries you are supposed to connect the negative lead last to help avoid
explosion. Do you know if that’s true??

  13. What is the price for a solar panel setup in Australia? Good Vid! Like the
box idea.also what are those batteries normally used for??

  14. I have not seen those type of batteries before well not that kind of set
up.those batteries do not come cheap..and great work on getting kids in
volved. it is not only a great science project but a great way to teach
them to be good stewards of the earth…very nice video.?

  15. This is the complete tutorial for installing solar panels. Thanks for
    sharing this video. It helps?

  16. Just wondering Mr. Beale, why you and Mr. Brown give Troy such a hard time?
I have been following him and his projects here on You Tube for some time
    and he
always seamed to be a good person. I enjoy watching him learn about all of
the different systems and equipment required in living off the grid. I have
even learned a few things my self. So why can’t you guys just lay off? ?
