Are you sure , you are working with the codes, No way it is accepted to mount the solar ray without proper insulation of roofing. Please dont make such unprofesional installation procedure in UT. with that single screw which you mounted rail on the roof , it cant stand the wind spped of 100 miles per hour. secondly you should find the stud first nt just screw over the shingle.

This is called "expert village". This is exactly why a certified installer should do an install.
The internet has some really bad information out there....homeowners do not copy this method...you will be sorry.

Lighten up folks. mount some panels on your rat shack and get some lights on... its easy to do with the stuff on hand... yes we all want pro contractors to do all our work for us... nothing $ 100 bucks an hour wont cure. But it is an easy DIY as we see here... dont be scared! EMPOWER yourself for the future...
Its true though if you have strong wind you can use 2 bolts... or more. new wood.. sealer thats ok too.. ground rack, motor home.. fine by me.
See?

I would fail every inspection if I did an install in this manner. Don't go cheap when you go green!

so sorry to frighten you all.. I should have shown working to code... but really, here we are with 30 volts at 4 amps on the roof, even at dead short there is no danger! any wire is ok. you scared experts could not hurt yourselves with this set up if you tried. Getting off the grid is not rocket science. No inspector on this job but my 100 installs here in SoCal ALWAYS pass 3 state inspections.. $40,000 buys a lot of safety hardware... you may not need it all ??
See?

@solarforfuture
dude your are ignorant it only takes half a mili-amp to kill you.
I have been an electrician for 15 yrs and no one that takes pride in their work does crap like this.
you are one of the reasons why i hate working in electrical cause scum like you ruin it for guys like me doing it right the first time. then I have to turn around a fix shit work like this which ends up costing people more cause it takes longer to fix the crap work than doing it right in the first place.
