Renogy Vs Windy Nation 100w Polycrystalline Solar panel comparison

These panels are the most affordable 100w panels on ebay. Both panels are made in China. I bought the Both panels for about $120 with free shipping outside o…

  1. Randy u almost sound like u know what your talking about. Renogy has
roughly 20 volts at roughly 5 amps. Do the math on your own. my math says
that’s 100 watts. yes it’s probably over driving the bulb. but it appears
to me the Renogy is giving its full promised output. the windy nation is
closer to 80w. Renogy makes their own panels… windy nation slaps stickers
on someone else’s. For sale? if u want to drive to Chico its for sale.
cheaper on eBay though. I paid $115 for both the Renogy and the windy
nation including shipping. just email them directly to get this price. if
the y don’t pay eBay fees they don’t charge them. ?

  2. Not to pick a fight, but it would have been nice to have noted the Vdrop at
the same time as showing the amps being pulled from the panels.

VOC is irrelevant when comparing panels under load.

Anywho, thanks for the comparison. I’ll see what kind of deal each will
give me. I contacted Renogy directly and they quoted me a price higher than
on Ebay, which pushes me towards the windy nation panel. Which seems to
have a better Imp than the Renogy. But in the end, the question is how much
juice you get out of them under load…

Keep in mind, also, that as a panel warms up, it’s voltage output drops…

Down in the Hot south, a panel just unwrapped will show 21.6 VOC, but wait
10 minutes and it will drop to 20 VOC as those cells warm up…

So temperature of the panel at the time of the test matters as well…?

  3. Your test is not valid. The setup of the panels makes a HUGE difference.
The windy nation panel is more straight up than the renogy panel. Yes,
that could very well account for the difference you noted. In order to
validate the test you need to record the angle and azimuth of both panels
then compare multiple readings from multiple setups. ?

  4. Hey man, thanks for the review. I’ve been looking for this product in ebay,
but I can’t find it. Is there any way you could give me the email of the
renogy seller?. I wanna buy one por 115 bucks, but I wanna ask first if
they sell overseas because I’m from Mexico?

  5. You also conveniently forgot to video the specs on the back of the panel of
the Windy City model… what’s up with that, do you call that unbiased
reporting, or are you a shill??

  6. PS, Let me know when you want to sell that Windy Nation 100 watt panels for
a used price. Solar Blvd was selling the same item for $95 new on Black
Friday, without shipping. I can drive to either Windy Nation o solar Blvd
Corona in an hour here in the SF valley and pick them up to avoid shipping
    charges.?

  7. I think you are confused, you don’t mention the wattage of the light bulb
you are testing, but amps x voltage = watts. That the Windy Nation uses
less amps means that it is able to hold it’s voltage higher, requiring less
amps to get the same amount of watts out of the light.?

  8. I found it interesting that the solar panels were indeed at a different
angle. It is really obvious while watching. I also found it interesting
that you were naming the Renogy over and over through out the video,
starting right at the beginning. If you would have zoomed in on the boxes
to show the dates that the packages arrived then I may have believed that
Renogy took half the time that Windy Nation did. However you didn’t, so I
don’t. Furthermore, you did not zoom in on the back of the Windy Nation’s
solar panel like you did on the Renogy one. You made sure to get the right
angle to block the sun so the people viewing could clearly see the askew
Renogy sticker. I also would have trusted the review more if you had shown
that indeed it was the same time of day, which I doubt given the skips in
the video. You also didn’t show that the light bulb was the same. All in
all not impressed with the review which was obviously to promote one
product over the other. Green energy is about saving money, and the
environment not putting money into one companies pocket. If you are not, in
fact working for them, then you have done the product that you love so much
a great disservice by this video. I look forward to your rude reply judging
on your other responses. And yes you are clearly a shill.?
