Solar Panels – Clean Renewable Energy For Free

Do you know that the earth we live in receives more energy from the sun in one hour than the earth’s population uses in a year! Can you even begin to imagine the kind of energy we are talking about? Why not re-use this energy then? Well, we can. By installing Solar panels in your industry, office or even home you can cut down on consuming energy generally generated from other sources like gas, oil etc which are anyway running out of stock and becoming increasingly expensive.

Installing Solar Panel makes perfect sense if we want to tap into this limitless, free, clean resource of renewable, sustainable, eco friendly energy. Let me also tell you that installing solar panels is easy and affordable, contrary to popular belief. Little wonder then that Solar panels Water Heating Systems are Europe’s fastest growing renewable energy technology.

There are many types of Solar panels for different needs. Monocrystalline solar panels use crystalline silicon which are produced in large sheets that have been cut to the size of the panel thus making one large single cell. Metal strips are laid over the entire cell and act as a conductor to capture electrons.

Polycrystalline solar panels are another type which use a bunch of small cells put together in place of one large cell. Poly panels are slightly less efficient as compared to mono panels. Users also claim that they are cheaper to manufacturer in comparison to mono panels. There are some sub types in this category of solar panels.

Then there are thin film panels. The main advantages of thin film panels lie in their low manufacturing costs and versatility. Since these solar panels can be applied in thin layers to different materials, it also becomes possible to make flexible solar cells. On the flip side the thin film solar panels do have several significant drawbacks.  They are the least efficient type of solar panel currently available. This Thin-film technology depends on silicon with high levels of impurities, which in turn can cause the efficiency to drop within a short period of use.

After you have incurred the basic cost of buying solar panels and installing them with the help of professionals you can reap the rewards endlessly. Solar energy generated with solar panels gives you 50%-70% of your yearly hot water requirements without you having to incur any cost at all.

Solar panels for heating water are easy and quick to install, easy to maintain and work in all weather conditions.

Using solar panels is a great way to generate clean and renewable electricity to activate remote appliances, including the average home. There are two main forms of solar cells in existence today; “solar electricity panels” and “solar hot water panels”.

These two are different technologies and both allow us to either generate electricity for our homes or to heat the water we use.

Homemade Solar Panels – Can A Diy Solar Power Kit Really Save You Money?

Building your own homemade solar panels is not as daunting a task as it may at first appear. To be honest assembling your own DIY solar power kit is child’s play.

The money you can save by building your own homemade solar panels is substantial. Firstly there is the cost you save of installing a traditional solar power system. Purchasing a system and having it installed can rack up costs which run into the thousands of dollars. Building homemade panels on the other hand will cost you around the price of the average households monthly power bill (around $200). Your DIY Solar power system can be built with parts readily available at the corner hardware store.

More savings can be reaped when looking at power bills. I’ve personally reduced my own monthly energy expense by approximately 80%, for me that is a saving of around $160 per month!, you can’t tell me that kind of money isn’t worth saving, especially in these tough economic times.

Another way in which homemade solar panels will save you money is in excess power. You see when you use less energy from your traditional energy sources, you can sell that energy back to the power company! The more panels you build, the more power you can sell back to the grid, the more savings you stand to make.

Having a diy solar power kit, helps increase the value of your home as this form of energy is seen as a long term solution to a more greener and cheaper form of energy.

So as you can see, Yes! You can save some real money by making homemade solar panels.

How to Land a $71,000 Contract Using Government Grants, Your Client Gets the Grant… You Get the Sale

Napanee, Ontario — September 2003

When Goodyear Canada’s Napanee, Ontario tire plant received more than $17,000 to finance a solar energy pilot project, the impetus came from the contractor doing the project. Goodyear may have got the actual grant… tiny RenewABILITY Energy Inc. got the $71,000 job.

RenewABILITY supplied the solar panels for the project, which helps to heat the plant and cut heating costs. While clients may already be sold on the obvious benefits of energy saving renovations, 100 percent of them would like to take advantage of government incentives, says RenewABILITY’s Gerald Van Decker. When selling a project, he assists clients in applying for funding — usually by filling out forms in draft form, which the client then reviews and modifies. “It’s simple,” he says. “It hardly takes any time at all.”

With the signing of the Kyoto Accord, there’s even more emphasis on reducing commercial and individual energy consumption, and the government will help fund many of these projects through such programs as the renewal Energy Development Initiative (REDI). Firms and contractors who capitalize on these programs reap the rewards.

For RenewABILITY, a small, three-person company, increasing sales using government grants is a smart way to go. Even if you’re a contractor who might install energy efficient windows or insulation, get to know what grants and incentives are available, and help your clients apply.

Where Can I Find Out How Much It Would Cost To Install Solar Panels For Electricity?

My house is approximately 2,500 sq ft and we use about 1800-2500 kWh/month. I live in a very sunny area and I am thinking about installing solar panels for water heating and electricity. I am just researching estimates, I am not ready to contact a dealer or contractor yet, but I really have no idea where to start. Any informative sites or answers would be greatly appreciated.
