  1. I support renewable energy, so I looked long and hard at all the solar gadgets here on Amazon, my goal was to charge my cell phone or at least not drain my car battery in doing so. This product is durable, as it’s slid off my dashboard several times without breaking. But I have no idea if it works to charge my battery. In fact, it may be draining my battery! When I plug it into my Nissan Quest it activates the Satellite, GPS & DVD players with or without sunshine. No sun makes me think they are running off and draining the car battery. I plan to keep the panel in the car for now, but it’s already annoyed my husband. Might be nice if a car had something like this built in to keep a battery charged.

  2. I made few measurements of voltage on vehicle battery contacts – with and without solar panel, with and without working engine, during engine start also (that is most critical). And the result is simple – there is no difference with or without the solar panel.

In addition I made measurements on panel contacts when there is no DIRECT sun light – very low energy supported, most of cases near to zero. And I’m leaving in very sunny place.

This panel probably can be used as power supply over little lamp or radio or something else like diode lights, but not for vehicle battery. And this is exactly why I bought it. So for me it was pure waist of money.

  3. I read the product description for the solar battery charger and “boat batteries” were listed. I assumed that since they listed boats that the product was waterproof… Oops on me. The product is not water proof! Well, for twenty bucks, what do you want… I was able to rig a waterproof cover for it out of an old, clear camelback hydration bladder. With that in hand, I went out assuming that it would work… Oops on me again. The led that is supposed to light to tell you that it’s charging never lit up. I thought that maybe the clear pack was somehow interfering with it. So, I took it out and no go…

THE PRODUCT DOES NOT WORK! If you need energy, just light a $20 bill. It’s about the same cost and you’ll get more energy from the fire than from this unit!!!

Unfortunately, I threw away the packaging, so I couldn’t return it.

  4. Doesn’t work at all. I’ve tried in repeatedly on my fully RV charged battery, and it doesn’t keep it from running down at all. If I still had the packaging I would surely return it for a refund. I hope my experience isn’t typical, but it’s all that really matters when I’ve paid for something that’s such a complete and total failure!

  5. works as advertised, keeps a charged battery full up, does not charge a dead battery, but the instructions state that, and no 1.5watt trickle charger will either, charges battery with indoor garage lighting, if this does not work for you its because you cannot read the instructions,
