PHOTOS OF A SOLAR PANEL INSTALLATION AT HOME

In July 2012. We managed to find a way of affording our own system after being declined to have free solar fitted earlier this year. For the story that leads…

  1. We have received a letter from SSE our power provider that they will soon deposit £243 into our bank account for the amount of electricity? our solar panels have fed back into the national grid since the installation. They have have asked for us to send them another meter reading at the end of next February 2013.. I also expect our electricity bill will be much lower too when we next get one.

  2. Having heard no more from? our electricity provider by the first week in November I chased them up and gave them a meter reading of what our system had generated. They said they would give us a payment for that directly into my bank account soon. I will repoert back when that happens!

  3. On 8? September we recieved the elecrticity generation contract to sign and return. which we have done. Some more paperwork is to follow I understand and we are expected to give them readngs of the amount of electricity our system generates.I am surprised they will just take our word for that, as some people may be tempted to exagerate!

  4. A month? later on and there has been no responce from our Electricity company. I quess they are too busy! Our next quarterly bill may be the next time we hear from them!

  5. Having sent all the required Documentation in to our electricity provider by recorded delivery before the deadline date of the end of July there has been silence form them inspite of several e mails asking them to confirm receipt! We have to be? patient and see what follows! So far we are unsure how the amount of power we are generating every day is being recorded by them

  6. For the record, our system is regularly generating around 150 watts from 6 am climbing up to 1.2 kw at 11am then on up to 3 kw by 4 pm then gradually dropping off again to 2kw at 7 pm and 200 w? at around 9 pm. It is generating more for a longer period than I had expected

  7. Thank you. We? are lucky to have it operational just as the English Summer sun appears to have arrived at last!

  8. We have had cheaper quotes, but went for? what we thought was the best design by the person who spent most time here researching our sitiation. That was in the region of £7300.

  9. We are in our 70s but faced with paying off a mortgage until I am 80 when we would probably not be able to enjoy having more money each month than we could now, so we have gone for Equity Release on the property. That pays off our mortgage now and we have money to clear our car loans and are able to invest in Solar which gives us an income, more than from leaving money in a Bank. The money? involved is paid back with interest when both of us have died from the sale of the house.

  10. Great idea. Can you give us a hint at the? total installation costs? Thanks for sharing. You have a lovely home in a very nice neighborhood!

  11. Nice one Mike. Welcome to the 21st century!! I take it the back of your house gets the most sun during the day? I hope they work well for you. Like the picture at? 4.27. Very funny. All the best…Tim.

  12. I understand you still get? your electricity bill in the normal way but provided you have put more electricity in than you have taken out, you also get a direct payment into your bank account.

  13. That’s some array you’ve got there. Well done! Must be nice to be getting something back from the “tizzy” co. Do they send? you a cheque?

  14. It is very satisfying to see the green indictor showing we are earning money as? well as providing our own electricity!!
